Why iPads?An iPad is Apple's version of a tablet. iPads were chosen as the Kindergarten 1:1 device as they are lightweight and easy to use. Apps can be accessed with the tap of a button making it quick to start up learning activities and games. The touch screen capabilities make them ideal for younger aged students as students can use the device to manipulate words, letters and numbers.

Why Chromebooks?Chromebooks were chosen as a 1:1 device because because they are easy to use, lightweight, and have a keyboard. Chromebooks store all content online which makes it easy for students to access their documents, files and projects from anywhere. Waverly is enrolled in the Google Apps for Education program which gives every student access to Google Drive and additional Google apps. The attached keyboard will help students enhance typing skills that are necessary to communicate digitally and will prepare students for upcoming online assessments.
