How has technology integration made an impact on your classroom this year?
"Students have experienced a wide range of opportunities to enhance and engage in learning. We've used a variety of research sites to create slide show presentations. The website our team created this year gives students access to all the resources they need to find information on just about anything. Kahoot! has gone over real well with students as a fun means of learning vocabulary and recalling important content area concepts in reading, language arts and social studies. Spelling City has been helpful for kids needing the additional engagement in writing. Typing Web has been a good resource to educating students on the home key position and how to maximize their typing speed. Google Classroom has been a unique way of sharing assignments and ideas between student and teacher and from student to student. We've had a great year of pioneering the Chromebooks. It's been much more exciting than I thought it would be!" -- Mrs. Fox
"Technology has impacted my classroom in several positive ways. The use of the Chromebooks has given my students the opportunity to learn more about technology safety and its uses. The students have also learned to collaborate on projects and create amazing results. Engagement is another positive impact that technology has had in the classroom. The students get excited to try new activities, assignments, and share their ideas with the group. The use of technology in my classroom is helping our students to be more prepared for real life experiences. It is important to note that the key to having a successful student is not just exposing them to technology, but rather it is the teacher who makes the personal connections with each student and inspires them to learn, that will truly make the difference in a child's life. " --Ms. McGee
Technology in the classroom has taken my lesson delivery to a whole new level. For example, Google Slides (presentation) & The Promethean Board have livened up otherwise “bland” lessons.
Technology in the classroom has helped with organization. For example, Google Classroom & Google Forms have helped me stream-line the process for student work completion as well as decreasing the amount of paper copies changing hands.
Technology has increased student engagement dramatically. For example, sites like Newsela & Kid Rex have provided kid friendly, appropriate, interesting materials. Sites like Socrative & Kahoot have provided exciting content review opportunities.
Technology in the classroom has provided meaningful assessment opportunities with various student products. For example, with Google Drawing & Lucid Press students have created small posters & brochures.
Technology in the classroom has provided valuable collaboration with colleagues. As colleagues familiarize themselves with new “tricks of the trade” the eagerness to share technology tips has increased. Many staff members have devoted plan times & after school time to learning & sharing technology." -- Ms. Dombrowski
