It's the start of the school year! Let's make sure you are tech ready!
Turning on the equipment for the first time.
It may sound like an obvious "to do", but simply turning on the equipment in your classroom can go a long way. Be certain to note anything unusual. If anything seems odd, non working or troublesome please contact our help desk at (517) 244-1215.
Are you able to:
-turn on all the equipment? Do you see any errors?
-log in to all devices?
-connect to all boards, document cameras, speakers, projector, etc?
-access all of your online resources like email, Power School, educational sites, etc?
Speaking of log ins......
Are you familiar with how the students will be logging in to their devices?
Charge em up!
If your carts have been sitting all summer please remember to plug them in now. There's nothing worse that having the perfect first day planned only to find that your Chromebooks are all sitting at 10% power.
It will be worth peeking into your cart to confirm that all devices are plugged into their chargers.
When you lift the hand set, are you able to hear a dial tone? Are you able to dial out and receive a phone call? This is a great time to do some quick testing. There's nothing worse than finding out something is not working right when you need it....
Update your webpage.
Keeping your webpage current is a great way to improve family and community communications.
Did you get a new title, classroom or move to a new school? Update that email signature!
Stay current with your email communications and use that space to direct parents and the community to any of your favorite resources. Don't know how to edit your signature? We have a tutorial here.
What's that noise?
If any of your devices are noisy or sound like an airplane, it may simply need a good cleaning. Call the help desk. We will be happy to send over someone from the team to get things cleaned out.
